Free dip

Become a fan of Heluva Good Dip on Facebook and they will mail you a coupon good for one free tub of dip. This stuff is excellent. My husband loves it! It goes BOGO at Publix about every 6 weeks so if you save your coupon, you can get TWO tubs free!!! We tried the Bodacious Onion (delish!) and the Horseradish Bacon (odd but not bad) flavors. There is also a coupon available here.

Enjoy!

Free undies!

A word of advice, don't play this one with your 4 year old son hanging over your shoulder. The website is not suitable for kids unless you want to answer the question, "Mommy, why is that lady's boobies hanging out?"

Who loves K-Cups?

Judging from the two times I tried them, I do!!! While I do not have a Keurig machine, I would be drinking alot more coffee if I won this contest. Free Lego Club magazine

Lego is giving away free 2-year memberships to Lego Club magazine. I know The Big One LOVES to get mail and he really does "read" magazines so I am very excited about this. The magazine has puzzles, games, and Lego "recipes" to build cool new things. We do not currently own the small Legos because The Little One stills eats everything but we have a friend who has a bunch of them. This will give us an excuse to play at their house more often!

Free 8x10 Canvas Portrait

Go here to turn your favorite picture into a canvas portrait. The canvas is free but you do have to pay $14.95 for shipping. Even paying shipping, this is a great deal!! If you want a bigger size canvas, you can take $55 off the total price of any size. It doesn't seem like this has an expiration date but I can't be sure so get this soon!

Donate to Haiti

It's so incredible to me how much the people of this country pull together to help in times of urgent need and disaster. We don't need government leading or prodding. We just jump in and help within hours of the news. While my husband has a great heart to help those in need, he tends to be skeptical of organizations. I did some research and found an organization, Harvest Time International, that has been awarded The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence, which basically means you can be sure that your donation will get to the people who need it. If you live in the Central Florida area, you can also sign up to volunteer and help them sort, pack, and ship donated supplies. You can also search for a drop off location to give needed donation items. If you have a little extra this month (or you realize your stockpile is growing beyond your storage space), please give what you can. It will be blessed!

Thank you!!

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." Malachi 3:10

Soft Scrub Total

Great News! I am now a Soft Scrub "Club Captain." This means they will send me new products to try and I get to tell you how much I love them.

The product I got this time is called Total Bath and Bowl Cleaner. I received it approximately two hours AFTER I deep cleaned both bathrooms so I had to wait for them to get dirty again before I could really try it out. I will say I really do love it and not just because they want me to say that. This stuff is awesome! Our sinks have a weird issue where they tend to get a waxy coating on them which attracts any dirt leaving them a nice shade of gross. Usually, I have to scrub really hard to get it off but with Total, I sprayed it on and I didn't have to scrub at all! The build up wiped right off!

Reasons to love Soft Scrub Total: (There is a kitchen version, too.)
  • Works upside down so you can spray inside the toilet
  • Has a screen over the trigger that allows the product to come out as a spray or a foam (I used the foam for the sink)
  • It will truly be the ONLY product you'll need to clean your entire bathroom.
Try it for yourself because it's awesome!

Ugh, computers

So, somehow we got a virus and our home computer is completely fried. My husband is going to build a new one so until that happens (hopefully only another week), I am without a computer. Posts will resume as soon as we get a new computer. Sorry!!

Get free stuff for recycling

This may not be new to some, but it was new to me so I wanted to share. Recyclebank.com is a website that rewards you for recycling. You get 100 points just for signing up and then you can add more points to your account by recycling old electronics, joining and using kashless.org (like Freecycle), or being a part of a neighborhood curbside recycling program. I have a few old cell phones I'm going to recycle but even if you only use the first 100 points, you can still get great stuff. I spent my points on 5 $1 Coke coupons since it's the one thing my husband asks me to buy every week. (He will eat Hamburger Helper and Easy Mac with hot dogs without complaint, I can buy him Coke.) Other free rewards you can get with your 100 points are Seventh Generation dish soap, 20% off at Foot Locker, amd BOGO Huggies wipes. There are hundreds of rewards!

Coupon Fraud

This is a GREAT article by Jenny at Southernsavers.com. "Spotting Coupon Fraud" is a must read for anyone wanting to use coupons the right way. Stores get reimbursed for coupons and if we aren't aware of the problems, we could get in trouble and lose them money. I'm not trying to break laws or cheat the system so I am very grateful for this article!

Free Crunch Bar

Nestle Crunch has launched The Crunch Challenge on Facebook (you don't have to become a fan, just click Crunch Challenge on their page.) All you have to do is play a surprisingly fun 10 question trivia game. If you answer all 10 questions (I don't even think you have to get them all right) and you are one of the first 1000 of the day, you will get an email (mine came two days after I played) telling you to submit your address to get your coupon good for a free Crunch bar. It's easy, fun, and free chocolate! What could be better than that???

Disney Give a Day, Get a Day

Go here to sign up. You volunteer for a few hours and Disney will give you a one park ticket to any Disney Park. If you want to do this, SIGN UP NOW! Spots are filling up VERY quickly. I signed up today and all the weekend days at the place my husband and I are volunteering were gone. What I did love, though, is that I could sign up as many as 6 people in my house to volunteer on the same day at the same location, as long as they had requested that many volunteers.

Do something good and get rewarded!!

My coupon organizer

If you read any number of coupon blogs, you will see many different ways people organize their coupons. If you are going to use coupons every week and aim to save more than you spend, you will need some kind of system that works for you.

Here is what I was using:

It worked for a while until I started getting doubles of each's weeks coupons and made couponing more of a lifestyle change than an occassional habit. I got frustrated because there was no way to organize the coupons within each section. Once I got frustrated, it was over. If I don't enjoy what I'm doing and it becomes a chore, then I need to step back because a frustrated mommy makes everyone's lives miserable.

I knew I needed something so I could see what I had. I liked the idea of a binder and was thinking I wanted to use something like what baseball card collectors use. So, I took a trip to Office Depot to see what I could find.

Here's what I created: (And, no, it's not new, many people use this and you can even buy them premade online but it was easy to just do it myself.)

I started with a 1 inch 3-ring binder since I had an empty one laying around. I ended up going back to Office Depot to get a 1.5 inch binder because it's roomier. I bought pages for business cards and 3.5x5 photos. each slot is for one item but not neccesarily the same coupon. For example, right now, I have 8 coupon for Glade candles. Some are BOGO, some are save $2 when you buy 2, ect but they are all for Glade candles. They are all in one slot. It makes stacking and stocking up so easy!

Another reason you need to make something that works for you is so you can seperate the coupons into groups you will use. The small organizer only had 13 sections which, I learned, wasn't enough for me.

My tabs are labeled as follows
  • Baby
  • Baking/Cooking
  • Beauty (This is for lotion, makeup, ect, not bath stuff)
  • Bread
  • Breakfast
  • Cleaning
  • Dairy
  • Dessert
  • Drinks
  • Fruit
  • Meat
  • Medicine - Adult
  • Medicine - Child
  • Paper Products
  • Pasta/Rice
  • Pizza
  • Snacks
  • Soup/Sauce
  • Toiletries
  • Veggies
  • Non-grocery/Misc
Within each section, I can organize further since everything has a page. Within toiletries, I can keep toothbrushes, toothpaste, ect on one page. Deodarant on another and so on and so forth. I work better with over the top organization so if that doesn't work for you, find something that does. My brain works logically and methodically so I needed something that required little thought.

Good luck on a new year of saving money!!!
