This is almost like work!

So, I am experiencing the not so exciting side of blogging. I have an idea of what I want to do with this blog and how I want it to look but since it's my creation, I have to actually learn new skills and put forth the effort to make it happen. Please notice the giveaways and blogs I love links above. I learned a little html to make that happen and I am pretty proud of myself! I have notes all over my computer desk of ideas just waiting to be published. It's coming along nicely and I am so grateful that you are all along for the ride. I couldn't do this without readers so thank you!

Review and Great Deal: Zarbee's Cough Syrup

I was recently sent a sample of Zarbee's Cough Syrup  to review. I was thrilled because both of my kids get weird quick illnesses and I'm always looking for natural solutions to ease their discomfort. A few days after I got the sample, my 4 year old developed a cough. I gave him Claritin because he was sneezing, too. He coughed through dinner and into bedtime. So, I thought I would give Zarbee's a try. Within minutes, his hours long cough was gone. Since he does have allergies, his throat gets itchy which makes him cough more. Zarbee's is made from honey, vitamins (one does contains a daily serving of vitamin C!), and natural ingredients. It has no alcohol!

Zarbee's comes in cherry or lemon flavors. We received cherry. I tried it (for research purposes) and it was very good. My son typically likes medicine and he liked this. He said it tasted like waffles. I guess he meant it tasted like syrup and I would agree, it has a sweet taste because of the honey.

I highly recommend Zarbee's for all children 12 months and older. I am going to make sure we always have some on hand.

Right now, you can buy either flavor in a 4 oz bottle for $2 using code USA. This deal is good through July 5th and there is no limit to how many bottles you can buy at that price!! Shipping is free, as well!

UPDATE: From Facebook, "We had a HUGE response from the coupon. We unfortunately had to cut it short. We WILL be running more so stay tuned and get your friends and family to join our facebook page!!" So...if you want to get $2 cough syrup, like their Facebook page!

Lowes: Kingsford Charcoal - BOGO!

Go to Lowe's July 1st-July 5th and you can get Kingsford Charcoal for about $4.50 a bag because they will be buy one, get one free.  I went to the Kingsford website and found that as long as it's store in a cool, dry place, the shelf life of charcoal is indefinite so this could be a great time to stock up if you grill often. The ad does say limit 2 free bags per customer but if you go with your significant other, you can get 8 bags for the price of 4!! You don't need a coupon to get this deal.
Thanks, Coupon Pro!

Beach Trip and Upcoming Giveaway!

I will be out town until Monday. We are going to the west coast of Florida to see my brothers and go to the beach. To be perfectly honest, I do not like the beach. It's alot of work with kids, I burn no matter what I do (I wear SPF 50-70 and reapply every 30 minutes. Ask my husband, it drives him crazy!), and the sand gets everywhere. BUT, since I am a great wife and mother, I go because my husband and kids love it. Last time we went, I only complained one time. That was a record! So, that is where I will be until Tuesday.

However, on Tuesday, I will be posting a great giveaway from CSN Stores! They are like the super center of online shopping. If you need it, they have it. I won't tell you what you can win, but you'll love it so tell your friends and be sure to check back on Tuesday! Here's a hint: EVERYONE will be able to use it.

It's not Autism but...

Sensory Processing Disorder hasn't been a named diagnosis very long, in the grand scheme of disorders. It was only "discovered" in the 1970s and is still very much an umbrella term for hundreds of "quirks" of which each sensory child can have an endless combination. To many schools systems, SPD is categorized as ADD or ADHD to ensure the kids get the extra help they may and the schools get the extra money they feel entitled to receive. Many states don't recognize SPD as a valid diagnosis. In reality, people with SPD are more on the autism spectrum. Some days, it looks very much like autism. Like today, for instance, when my little boy repeatedly banged his head on the cart while we were shopping because he didn't want to be strapped in (I only buckled him in for a minute while I was checking out because he kept standing up. He was in the seat in the front of the cart so it would be a long way down if he fell). My day is a constant study in safety vs. comfort. He is still a kid though and wants what most kids want.

A wonderful dear friend of mine (who knows at least three families with a sensory child) is always on the lookout for resources and activities for us. She found an amazing (and MUCH needed) opportunity through the Autism Society of America. Once a month, 95 movie theaters across the United States host Sensory Friendly Films. To be honest, I cried when I clicked on the link my friend sent. We have taken both of our boys to the movies many times just because sometimes we want to go as a family but the only way the little one will sit quietly is if we feed him. When we did go as a family, we went around lunch or dinner time so he can eat the whole time. Lately (the last 6 months), my husband or I have just taken the older one (or we let my dad take him) because it's too much work to take a sensory kid the movies. The thought of going to the movies with parents who understand why my child wants to climb over the seats, scoot down the stairs on his bottom, or say "pe-oh, pe-oh" over and over and over and over is a dream come true. He loves movies but just watches them differently than most kids. Now we have the guarantee that, once a month, we can all actually enjoy a movie!

Another great Medco deal!

Publix Coupon Policy

On Monday, I told you I had an email into Publix corporate for a copy of their exact coupon policy. Here is the response I got.

"Thank you for your email.  We appreciate our customers taking the time to contact us. There is no corporate coupon policy that we can share with you. Each store manager can set guidelines so it is best to ask a manager at the Publix you are shopping to find out their policies."

I was pretty sure that was the case but it reinforces, again,  what I said about asking a manager. Just become friends with the store manager. Everyone needs another friend, right?

Enter to win, get free lip balm!

Enter to win a trip for two to Hawaii from Veria and you will get a free Veria vanilla flavored organic lip balm! Even if you don't win a trip (which you could!), you will still get the lip balm. Sounds like a win-win to me!

Huggies at Publix

Publix has Huggies diapers on sale through today. I haven't been buying diapers because we have switched to cloth so I got this tip from a reader.
  • Buy a box of Huggies diapers
      • Use the $2 off coupon in the weekly ad (available at the front of the store)
      • Print a $3 off coupon here
      • Save $5 on a box and it works out to be about 16¢ per diaper (for size 3)!
If you grab two ads and print two of the $3 off coupons, you should be able to buy two boxes at this price as long as you do it in two transaction.

Thanks, AP!

The Toilet Paper Principal

I always shop with unit prices in mind but I still usually end up standing in front of the toilet paper doing math in my head (not a good idea, haha) trying to determine if a sale is actually a good deal. A Deal Seeking Mom reader came up with a simple and quick way to figure the price per square foot which will help you determine if the sale price makes the toilet paper worth buying.

Thank you, Deal Seeking Mom!!

Publix in the News: Coupon Fraud

I have written about this before but it's very important that we are always mindful of it. Please read the article I linked to the first time I wrote about coupon fraud, as well as this report from Channel 6 News. Coupons are amazing wonderful sources of money but we are not trying to cheat the store. I'm nervous that Publix is commenting on this subject because it means a) they are being cheated by dishonest customers, b) they will crack down on everyone, including those of us who are being honest, and c) they may rewrite their coupon policy to be more restrictive. I have, in the past two visits to Publix, seen evidence of this already. The manager has a clipboard with a list of internet coupons NOT to accept and had to check to make sure the coupons I was using were not on the list. If you are in doubt, ask a manager before you checkout and please be gracious, kind, and accepting of the information you are given while shopping. For the sake of the long and hot days and hard work my husband puts in to bring home money so we can eat, educate yourself as much as possible so grocery prices can continue to be flexible. Thank you and happy shopping!!

I have an email into Publix corporate requesting a copy of the most current Publix coupon policy. As soon as they respond, I will post it here.
UPDATE: Read their response here.

The inner workings of a 4 year old mind.

My husband is watching a show on The Science Channel and someone said the word produce. My 4 year old just happened to walk in right at that moment. Here is the conversation that occured.
4 year old: "Produce?"
Me: "Yes, you know what produce is, right?"
4 year old: "Is it this?" He then proceeded to hold up his hand like this.
That's my son, haha!

Winn-Dixie: $50 Visa Gift Card for $45

Make sure you stop by Winn-Dixie by Tuesday June 22nd because there is a coupon in their ad for $5 off the purchase of a $50 Visa gift card. It's free money! You can use Visa gift cards anywhere Visa is accepted. We've even used them online to pay a small bill. There is usually a rack of their ads in the store so you can just get the coupon there. You do have to have a Winn-Dixie Reward Card. The coupon states "one coupon redemption per order per customer" so it seems like you can buy as many as you want as long as you do separate transactions.

Enjoy $5 for free!

Go to PS Mom Reviews for information on the perfect choice for gifts. Friendgiftr lets you buy gift cards online for over 125 major retailers and restaurants. I have given my brothers gift cards that they have kept for over a year without using so this is a great website that I will definitely use!

Thing One and Thing Two

Today is one of those days, as a mom, that I wish I had a nanny. My husband has taken my car to work every day this week because his battery is completely dead (he knew he needed a new one and it won't hold a charge anymore at all) and he wanted to make sure it didn't fry anything else before he changed it. So, we decided to wait until tomorrow because money was low and he really despises working on car after work. Plus, my car has a/c and his doesn't. The boys and I have gone swimming and taken walks this week but for the most part, we have been inside all week. It's over 100 heat index so there isn't much we can do outside.

For the past month, my boys have been ganging up on me and their target of battle is the kitchen. It was started by my 19 month old and the 4 year old is very much a follower with his brother. Every time I leave the main part of the house (ie. go to the bathroom, get the mail, take a shower), they stampede the kitchen and empty cabinets, the pantry, the garbage can, the refrigerator, and this week, they added the sink. They are fast and thorough, much like Thing One and Thing Two. I always make them clean it up but they love to clean. On Wednesday, I heard a crash while I was in the bathroom. The Little One was pulling stuff out of the sink and threw a glass plate on the floor. Obviously, he couldn't clean that up. Well, today, The Big One decided that was a fun game two days ago and he threw a glass bowl on the floor when I went to get something out of my room. It didn't shatter like the plate but the bottom cracked. I spanked him but nothing phases these boys!

We have tried cabinet locks (they figured those out the first week), taping the cabinets closed (they pulled it off), furniture barricades (they climb over), spankings (they laugh), yelling (they laugh), and long time outs (they laugh.) We didn't want to buy a baby gate because The Big One knows how to open them and we hoped this behavior would get old. It hasn't so, the baby gate is my last hope for sanity. My only consolation is that usually when The Little One gets bored, The Big One does, too. I am hoping if one can't get it, they will both move on. Hopefully...

Central Florida - Used Tire World

A friend went to Used Tire World recently for tires for her Suburban. She said they were very reasonable, helpful, and established. My husband has had weird issues with his tires and usually ends up paying insane money for a tire because most of the places around us are way overpriced. I love knowing about this place because next time, we can avoid the phone calls trying to price tires. We will just go to Used Tire World! They have new tires and do brakes, tune ups, shocks, oil changes, and repairs as well!

Every tire purchase includes installation, rotation and balance, valve stems, and a 30 day warranty on used tires. They also have coupons on the website!

Thanks, TM!

Vote for Give Kids the World!

The Pepsi Refresh Project is giving over a million dollars in grants to help organizations make the world a better place. Give Kids the World is an amazing place that gives kids with a life-threatening illness a chance to have fun with their families for a few days, all expenses paid. Please vote so they can be awarded $250,000 to update and repair the Village. You can see the breakdown of how they plan to spend the money on their Pepsi profile.

I have been to the Give Kids the World Village and it is a fairy tale world. They are doing incredible things and for some families, it is the first or last vacation they get to take together. You can vote every day until June 30th. They are currently ranked #9 and only the top two organizations get the money. They are so close so please take a moment to vote.

While you are there, look around and vote for other organizations that touch your heart. There are four tiers of funds being awarded so there are thousands of worthy ideas!

How to Build your Stockpile

Friend Family Savings posted a great post about stockpiling. I love that she mentions that you don't need a pantry or lots of space to have a great stockpile. I live in a small apartment and using coupons has helped me become more organized and learn to maximize the space available. We have a cabinet under the sink in both bathrooms that are full of bath products (I use baskets, too), the shelves in the laundry room have all of the laundry products, large stuff (toilet paper, diapers, ect) goes on a shelf in the boys bedroom, I freeze anything I can, and use all the space in the cabinets I do have.

I need to warn you. Once you start using coupons to create a stockpile, it becomes a game and you might end up with 12 unopened deodorants under your sink!

Happy Birthday to Me! Giveaway for you!

Tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be 27! So, in honor of my special day, I decided it was time to give you a chance to win some free stuff!

I was sent a bunch of samples of got2b smooth operator lustre lotion. My hair has the potential to do anything I want and look incredibly good, but most of the time, I just put it in a clip. It's hot and I never have the time to make it look decent. So, with that being said, I am always on the lookout for quick and easy hair solutions.

The samples I received are average size for a sample, 0.35 oz, so I was thinking each one would be enough for one or two uses. My hair is past my shoulders but this is one of those products that you really can see a difference with just a small amount. I noticed a difference right away. My hair was smoother, shinier, and smelled great! I even tried it on my 4 year old. I asked him a few hours later if he had been playing with lotion or candles because he smelled really pretty. I would say, for that reason alone, this is not a hair product to share with your husband.

Here is what got2b smooth operator lustre lotion is and does:

  • Recently reformulated with an indulgent cashmere infusion
  • Protects against heat damage from our favorite heat styling tools and contains a UV protectant
  • Comes in a sleek and modern 6.8 oz dispenser with a newly improved pump and unique charm
  • Perfected for use on all hair types, wet or dry
  • Features a luxurious fragrance fit for a goddess
  • Suggested retail price of $5.99
  • Part of a full line of göt2b® smooth operator products
  • To apply, pump the lotion into your hand and distribute it evenly through towel-dried or dry hair and style away
Overall, I loved smooth operator. It was quick, easy, and made my hair look good for a long time. It even did ok in the killer Florida humidity!

Where To Buy: got2b is sold in most major retailers and drugstores.

Win it! I will pick three people using random.org to win one of three got2b prizes. Two of you will win two sample packs, a $1 off coupon, and a $2.50 off coupon. One of you will win a coupon for a free lustre lotion or hairspray and a $2.50 off coupon. I will pick the winners on Monday, June 21st.

Disclosure: The samples and coupons were sent to me by BzzAgent in exchange for my honest opinion. I did not receive any other compensation for this review.

DVD Review: Hermie - Who is in Charge Anyway?

I have read many of Max Lucado's books, both for kids and adults. My very favorite are the Punchinello and Wemmicks books. I bought two of them before I even had kids because the story and message resonated with me. That being said, I had not read or seen any of the Hermie and Friends series.

Who is in Charge Anyway? is the story of Freddie Flea, a seemingly average repairbug. While fixing the Ladybug family's TV, he overhears a conversation between the little ladybugs and their mother, who says Freddie is special because he is their friend. This makes Freddie sad because he feels like all of his friends have a special talent like being strong or brave but he doesn't. After a long conversation with God in the garden where Freddie lives, he realizes many other bugs are useful in spite of their "flaws."

Here is my son's review.
Me: "What did you think of the Hermie movie?"
Him: "I really really liked it but it wasn't that funny. And like, those people, they didn't concentrate on what they were doing. They looked around and didn't watch where they were going."
Me: "What do you mean?"
Him: "Let me tell you. Hermie didn't watch where he was going. He looks around too much."
Me: "What was your favorite part?"
Him: "When the boat started sinking. When the water came up high."
Me: "Would you tell your friends to watch this movie?"
Him: "Yeah."
Me: "Ok, thanks, you can go back to playing cars."
Him: "But I need to say more. There's this thing that doesn't like to, like somehow, it's not very cool and it's called a bee. It isn't cool and doesn't like anything so I don't know what it likes."

So, there you have it. The raw opinion of a 4 year old. I do agree, Hermie was a little shifty eyed. The boat scene was one of the memories Freddie was having about Hermie. God told Hermie to build a boat so he did and saved all of his friends because their garden become flooded after days of rain. The bee was another of Freddie's friends. He wasn't cool and was bullied by the cool bee until he saved him from a venus flytrap.

As a mom, I liked this movie because I can let them watch it without worrying about what they will hear or what kind of commercials they will see. It teaches God's truth so it makes me happy. Plus, it's an hour long and my kids actually watched it!

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this DVD from booksneeze.com to review. I did not receive monetary compensation for my opinion and I was not required to write a positive review. .

Help a Reader!

I had someone ask me if I knew how to save money on printer ink. She has a laser jet printer and the cartridges cost about $70! They do last much longer than ink jet cartridges but it's time to buy a new one. I'm not sure of the brand but I thought maybe someone could help us all out since I don't know and my research isn't turning up any great solution.

Do any of the office supply stores have savings programs that might help? Is there a place to buy laser jet ink (online or otherwise) that is consistently cheaper? Any and all ideas are welcome. She is a reader so you can post your comments here and I'll let her know to check back.

Thanks so much in advance!!

More Cheap Summer Activities - Central Florida

A huge thanks to Our Family Ramblings for taking the time to compile this great list of stuff to do this summer. There is so much going on, especially for the 8-12 crowd. (She has two kids in that age range so it makes sense that she found so much for them.)

Have a great summer!!

Aldi Info

Aldi is really expanding and has recently migrated to Florida. I haven't shopped at Aldi yet because the closest one is still about 40 minutes from me but there is one coming soon!

The chain recently came to Dallas and MelissaStuff posted a great "Newbies Guide." I am glad she did some research before I went to one. I'm still nervous about the processing of returning the cart. What am I supposed to do with my kids? I guess I'll have to go shopping alone and that will be my excuse, haha!

Free Samples - Deal Seeking Mom

Deal Seeking Mom is a great resource for free samples and here is the weekly roundup from her site. Make sure you get them all!

Thanks for all your hard work, Deal Seeking Mom!

Grocery Inventory and Price List

Southern Savers has created two incredibly helpful documents that will ensure you are saving the most possible money at the grocery. You can print a pantry inventory (to help you avoid having six unopened containers of Parmesan cheese or eight bottles of salad dressing, like...you know, my "friend" once did...) and a pantry staples price list. I looked at the price list and it's very accurate for this area. The prices are what we all should be shooting for when we shop and when they reach that price, it's time to stock up!

Thanks for your hard work, Southern Savers!

Make your own cleaning supplies

I have been doing this consistently for about a year and I love both of these recipes. If you search, you will find hundreds of variations of these so if you find something isn't working well for your needs, you can always add or exchange ingredients.

Laundry Detergent
I can get all of this at Publix in the laundry detergent aisle. It's about $8 for all three things but the washing soda and Borax make about six  batches. A triple batch lasts me about five months and I do at least one load a day. I use it for cloth diapers, as well.

  • 1 bar Fels Naptha soap
  • 1 1/2 cups of Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda
  • 1/2 Borax
  • a sprinkling of baking soda (more if you have hard water, I add it to cut down the ammonia smell from the cloth diapers)
I need to get a food processer but I just use a cheese grater and grate the Fels Naptha into a container with a lid (I use a 6.5 qt. Rubbermaid bucket.) Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. You only need 1-2 tablespoons for each load depending on how dirty the clothes seem.

All Purpose Cleaning Solution
I buy all of this from Lucky Vitamin. I've used the same shipment of ingredients for over 6 months and they are no where near empty.

  •   .5 oz of Aubrey’s Earth Aware Cleanser ($5.42/32 oz. bottle)
  • 10 drops NOW Tea Tree Oil ($5.39/1 oz. bottle)
  • 20 drops NOW Lemon Oil ($10.19/4 oz. bottle)
  • Mix in spray bottle with filtered water
  • Final cost: $0.20 per bottle of household cleaner

How to Shop Walgreens

Have you been curious about Walgreens and how their Register Rewards program works? Friend Family Savings has a great guest post that spells it out. They do mention northern grocery stores that will accept the register rewards as cash but unfortunately, Florida doesn't have any that do.

This is an easy way to get lots of products you use every day for free or occasionally actually make money!

Winning Sweepstakes

Some of you know that I love winning stuff. I enter blog giveaways and sweepstakes often. Since I've started tracking my winnings, I win something useful about twice a week. Not bad as a second income! A friend of mine has recently started entering contests as well and just won a $300 car seat! It really does pay off and it's worth the time you put in.

I love this guest post on Freebies 4 Mom. It will help you get started and discover the world of winning!

Free Bedtime Story

A Story Before Bed is offering a free bedtime story ($9.99 value)! All you need a a camera and microphone on your computer and you can record a cute story for your kiddos. This would be great to have grandparents or family out of state do for your kids. The only downside is you can't save it to your computer but Deal Wise Mommy had the great idea to record it with your camera and put it on a DVD so you can save it.

Free Twilight Novella

Here's one for all you Twihards! You can read Stephenie Meyer's newest edition to the Twlight Saga, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, for free here. It's not a download so it won't help to have a reader but it will save you $8 to read it online.

Cheap Summer Activities - Central Florida

  •  Joann's Fabric - Kid's Camp, most of the projects are for kids 8 and older but some are for 5 and up. Check the schedule in the store before you get your kids excited.

  • Bass Pro Shops - Family Summer Camp, they will have weekly activities from June 5-July 11. The free activities, crafts, and snacks are every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-6pm. One of my readers went this past weekend and said there was so many things going on and they loved it!

  • AMC Theaters - Every Tuesday through the summer (June 15-August 10), they are showing a kids movie for $1/person! They also have KidsPack concession combos for $4. All movie and concession proceeds go to charity. We did this last summer and it was great! I even took The Little One who was only 7 months old. He did great so if you are scared to take your kids to the movies, this is the time!

  • Garden Theater - They will have $1 movies, too. They are also every Tuesday at 10 am (June 15-August 3). I plan on going to all the movies we don't own so I'm glad two theaters are doing this!

What else is going on in Central Florida that we need to know about? Let's keep these kids busy!

Thanks, HM, KG, and Our Family Ramblings!

ANOTHER $10 free health items!!

Medco Health Store has put out another $10 off code and shipping is still just $0.99! Use code DR10 at checkout for an instant $10 off your order. I ordered California Baby Diaper Area Wash since we are now only using cloth diapers and wipes. I paid $1.98!

If you missed the last code, it's still good! Make sure you get your free $20 worth of bath, body, baby, or health items. You'll only have to pay less than $2 in shipping!! (You do have to use the codes separately so it'll be two $10 orders.)

BOGO Nabisco Cookies

Facebook is becoming a great resource for coupons! Thanks to my readers who also always on the lookout for great deals so we can all save.

If you "like" Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs on Facebook, you can print a BOGO coupon. Remember to use your back button and you can print it twice! It expires 30 days from when you print it but that could turn into four free boxes because they are BOGO at Publix regularly. When you use a buy one, get one coupon on something that is already buy one, get one, you get them both free!

Thanks, SS!

Ask Before you Shop

I know I sound like a broken record, but it really is vital to your couponing success to know the coupon policy of the store that you shop. All it takes is one phone call before you start planning your grocery visit. I shop at Publix for most of my grocery needs and I know that if I go to the Publix 5 miles down the road, their coupon policy will be different. A friend just called me and said she was told that Publix no longer accepts competitor coupons and that Publix "isn't really supposed to take them at all." Since she went to the location 5 miles down the road, I wasn't able to say anything definitive about their policy. She was fine with it and they accepted her coupons "this time" but she knows now not to waste her time on competitor coupons if she is going to that store.

Just call and ask for the manager before you shop, especially if you are shopping somewhere different. Ask them if they accept competitor coupons, ask them who they consider a competitor, ask them if they have a limit on how many coupons you can use in one transaction, and get the manager's name. This will make your experience much happier and help you save the most money per hour you spend planning. Also, if you get a below OR above average cashier, manager, or bag boy, send an email to corporate. Let them know. Every time I have used that form, I have gotten an email back from corporate AND a call from the store manager. They really do read every email!!

Happy shopping!

Publix - Buy Theirs, Get Ours

I hadn't had a chance to look at this week's ad until right now and saw another great Buy Theirs, Get Ours Free deal this week. They seem to making this a weekly sale, so make sure you check the website or signage in store so you don't miss out on any great deals! It's good through Wednesday June 9th.

Southern Savers already found all the coupons you will need to make this even sweeter! Thank you!!

I am going to buy all the Johnson's stuff and use the $3/3 Johnson's products coupon. I also have a bunch of Huggies coupons so I will finally be able to use those on this great sale! These are great for baby shower gifts, too.

Gatorade at Publix

I got a tip from a reader who was told that 64 oz. Gatorade is always on sale at Publix. The manager told her that it rotates every week from being 2/$5 to BOGO. So, she knows that every week, she will never pay more than $2.50 for a bottle of Gatorade without coupons. That is good to know!

I am assuming this is true of all Publix locations. I will check my store when I go shopping this week. Have anyone seen anything different?

DIY Dishware

Found in the "Ali" is one of my favorite blogs because she is just so darn creative. I have said before that I am not that creative on my own but I am great at following directions.

She recently made a set of painted dishware that I am going to be trying for myself. I even already have clear plates. I had an "ah-ha" moment reading the tutorial because she didn't paint on the part where your food would go. She painted everything on the back of the plate! It seems so simple but I never would have thought of that.

Anyway, take a trip over to her blog and have a few "ah-ha" moments of your own!

Win an Apple iPad!

Mom to Bed by 8 is giving away a 16 GB Apple iPad! I have won stuff from her blog before so I promise it's a legit giveaway. There are many ways to win and the giveaway ends July 2nd. Enter now!

Free Redbox and Blockbuster Rentals

Summer is here so that means you will need to rent movies, especially if the kids are home all day! These codes should make it easier for you.

Blockbuster Express "The Blue Box": Use code GT14A or GL14A for one free rental (one for each code.) Also, remember you can use each code once per credit or debit card so if you have more than one card, you can get more than one free rental. These codes expire 6/30.

Redbox: If you provide Redbox with your email address the next time you rent in June, they will email you a code good for one free move when you rent two. (Buy two, get one free.) This is valid through the month of June.
